Code of Conduct

TLDR: Be respectful, inclusive, and constructive. Don’t publish harmful, illegal, or infringing content. Violations will lead to account consequences, including warnings, package removal, or bans.

Our Pledge

At pckgs.io, we are dedicated to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and high-quality environment for all users who publish and access Unity packages. We believe that a respectful platform for content sharing is crucial for innovation and growth within the Unity ecosystem. This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for all user-submitted content and behavior on the Service, and provides guidelines for reporting and enforcement.

Our Standards

We expect all users and contributors to pckgs.io to adhere to the following standards of behavior and content creation:

  • Be respectful and considerate in your content: Maintain a respectful and considerate tone in all published package content, including package names, descriptions, and particularly within README.md, LICENSE.md, and CHANGELOG.md files. Avoid personal attacks, insults, or demeaning language.
  • Be inclusive in your contributions: Ensure all published content is inclusive and free from discriminatory language, imagery, or themes. We value diversity and strive to create a space where everyone feels welcome and can find useful, unbiased resources.
  • Contribute constructively: Create and share packages and documentation that are clear, well-intentioned, and genuinely benefit the wider community. Focus on adding value and quality.
  • Be discerning about content: Do not publish, link to, or share any content that is inappropriate, offensive, illegal, or infringes on the rights of others.

Unacceptable Behavior

The following behaviors and content are considered unacceptable and will result in consequences for your account:

  • Harassing or Discriminatory Content: Publishing any content (including package names, descriptions, metadata, README.md, LICENSE.md, CHANGELOG.md, or package assets) that contains harassment, discrimination, bullying, offensive language, hate speech, explicit content, or promotes harmful ideologies based on gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion, disability, age, or any other personal attribute.
  • Spamming: Excessive, repetitive, or irrelevant package uploads intended to disrupt, mislead, or overwhelm the Service or its users. This includes publishing low-effort or duplicate content solely for visibility.
  • Impersonation: Pretending to be another user, organization, or official entity through account details, package authorship, or content claims.
  • Unauthorized Access or Misuse: Attempting to gain unauthorized access to accounts or systems, or misusing the Service in a way that violates its terms or applicable laws.
  • Intellectual Property Infringement: Uploading or distributing any content (including code, assets, or documentation) that infringes on copyrights, trademarks, patents, or other intellectual property rights of others. Explicitly state the license for your package if it’s open-source.
  • Malicious Content: Publishing packages that contain malware, viruses, or any other harmful code designed to damage or compromise users’ systems or data.
