Terms of Use

TLDR: By using pckgs.io, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and Code of Conduct. You’re responsible for your account and packages, ensuring they comply with all rules and laws. We provide the service “as is,” and we can take action, including terminating your account, for violations.

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the pckgs.io website and cloud storage services, for Unity packages (the “Service”). By accessing or using any part of the Service, you signify your unreserved agreement to be bound by these Terms, along with our Privacy Policy, Code of Conduct and Refund Policy all of which are incorporated by reference into these Terms.

Your Account and Responsibilities

  1. Account Creation: To access certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration and to keep this information updated.
  2. Account Security: You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. We cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this security obligation.
  3. Adherence to Policies: Your use of the Service is subject not only to these Terms but also to our Code of Conduct, which strictly prohibits certain behaviors and content, and our Privacy Policy regarding data collection and usage. You agree to comply with all aspects of these policies.

User Content and Licensing (Your Packages)

  1. Ownership: You retain all ownership rights to the content, including Unity packages, code, assets, and documentation, that you upload, publish, or display on or through the Service (“User Content”).

  2. License Grant to pckgs.io: By uploading User Content to the Service, you grant pckgs.io a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform the User Content in connection with the Service and pckgs.io’s (and its successors’ and affiliates’) business, including without limitation for promoting and redistributing part or all of the Service (and derivative works thereof) in any media formats and through any media channels. This license is solely for the purpose of operating, improving, and promoting the Service.

  3. Your Warranties: You represent and warrant that:

    • You own or have the necessary licenses, rights, consents, and permissions to use and authorize pckgs.io to use all intellectual property and other proprietary rights in and to any User Content to enable inclusion and use of the User Content in the manner contemplated by the Service and these Terms.

    • Your User Content does not infringe, violate, or misappropriates any third-party rights, including copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, moral rights, privacy rights, publicity rights, or any other intellectual property or proprietary rights.

    • You have clearly stated the license under which your package is released if it is open-source, and that any third-party components included in your package comply with their respective licenses.

  4. Responsibility for User Content: You are solely responsible for your User Content and the consequences of publishing it on the Service. We do not endorse any User Content or any opinion, recommendation, or advice expressed therein, and we expressly disclaim any and all liability in connection with User Content.

  5. Private Packages: Any User Content designated as private by you will only be accessible and distributed to the audience you specifically authorize. While pckgs.io still requires the necessary license to operate and maintain these private packages (e.g., for storage, security scanning, and delivery to authorized users), this license does not extend to public promotion or redistribution of such private content.

Paid Features & Subscription

pckgs.io is free to use — including all features.
Every organization starts with:

  • 100 MB of storage
  • 500 MB of monthly transfer

If you need more space, we offer a paid subscription to increase your storage and transfer limits.

Subscriptions & Billing

  • Storage Upgrade: Paid subscriptions increase your storage capacity (e.g., up to 5 GB) and transfer limits. All features remain the same.

  • Payment Processing: Payments are securely handled by a third-party payment processor. We do not store sensitive payment information (such as your full credit card number). Your payment data is processed in accordance with the payment provider’s terms and privacy policy.

  • Accurate Information: You agree to provide current and accurate payment details when subscribing. You authorize pckgs.io, through the payment processor, to charge your payment method for the selected plan.

  • Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. By subscribing, you consent to recurring charges until you cancel.

  • Price Changes: We may update subscription prices in the future. Any changes will be communicated in advance and apply to the next billing cycle.

  • Cancellations & Refunds: You can cancel your subscription at any time via your organization settings. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period. See our Refund Policy for more details.

💡 All features are included at no cost — paid plans are only needed if your organization requires more storage or bandwidth.

Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to engage in the following prohibited activities:

  • Violating the Code of Conduct: Any behavior or content deemed “Unacceptable Behavior” in our Code of Conduct, including but not limited to harassment, discrimination, spamming, impersonation, or publishing malicious content.
  • Unauthorized Access & Misuse: Attempting to gain unauthorized access to accounts, computer systems, or networks connected to the Service, or interfering with the integrity or performance of the Service.
  • Intellectual Property Infringement: Uploading or distributing any content that you know or reasonably should know infringes upon copyrights, trademarks, patents, or other intellectual property rights of others, or violates any contractual or fiduciary duties.   • Illegal Activities: Using the Service for any illegal activities or in violation of any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation.
  • Circumventing Security: Attempting to circumvent any security features of the Service.

Intellectual Property (pckgs.io’s IP)

The pckgs.io name, logo, domain, and all related content, features, and functionality (including but not limited to all information, software, text, displays, images, video, and audio, and the design, selection, and arrangement thereof), are owned by pckgs.io, its licensors, or other providers of such material and are protected by copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property or proprietary rights laws. You may not copy, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, download, store, or transmit any of the material on our Service, except as generally permitted for your personal, non-commercial use of the Service.

Termination

  1. By You: You can stop using the Service at any time from Account/Settings by deleting your account. After initiating deletion, your account will be marked for removal and permanently deleted after 30 days unless you cancel the process.
  2. By Us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and your access to the Service at our sole discretion, immediately and without prior notice, if you violate these Terms, our Code of Conduct, our Privacy Policy, or any applicable law, or for any other reason, including but not limited to inactivity. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

pckgs.io is an independent service and is not officially provided, endorsed, or affiliated with Unity Technologies Inc. in any way.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS, WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE PURSUANT TO APPLICABLE LAW, PCKGS.IO DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED. YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS SOLELY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL PCKGS.IO, ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM (I) YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICE; (II) ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE SERVICE; (III) ANY CONTENT OBTAINED FROM THE SERVICE; AND (IV) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE, OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR CONTENT, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, WHETHER OR NOT WE HAVE BEEN INFORMED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGE, AND EVEN IF A REMEDY SET FORTH HEREIN IS FOUND TO HAVE FAILED OF ITS ESSENTIAL PURPOSE.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective Date” at the top of this page. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
