Copyright & Takedown Policy

This policy outlines the procedures for reporting and addressing alleged copyright infringement on pckgs.io. We respect the intellectual property rights of others and expect our users to do the same. This policy is designed to comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”).

Reporting Copyright Infringement (Takedown Notices)

If you believe that content hosted on pckgs.io infringes your copyright, please send a written notification to us containing the following information. This notice should be sent from the copyright holder or an authorized agent.

Required Information for a Valid Takedown Notice:

  1. Identification of the Copyrighted Work: A description of the copyrighted work(s) you claim have been infringed. If multiple copyrighted works are involved, please provide a representative list.
  2. Identification of the Allegedly Infringing Material: Sufficient information to allow us to locate the material on pckgs.io. This must include the specific URL(s) where the infringing content can be found (e.g., https://pckgs.io/packages/[package-name]).
  3. Your Contact Information: Your full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  4. Statement of Good Faith Belief: A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  5. Accuracy and Perjury Statement: A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
  6. Physical or Electronic Signature: A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner.

How to Send Your Takedown Notice:

Please send your complete notice to us here or at support@pckgs.io.

Please note: a takedown notice is a legal statement. We may forward a copy of it, including the contact information you provide, to the user who uploaded the material so they can respond. Do not include information you do not want shared with that user. Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing may make you liable for damages.

Counter-Notification

If you believe material you uploaded was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send us a counter-notification here or at support@pckgs.io containing:

  1. Identification of the removed material and the location where it appeared before removal.
  2. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  3. Your contact information: your full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts for your address and will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original notice.
  4. Your physical or electronic signature.

We may forward a counter-notification, including your contact information, to the person who submitted the original notice. Unless that person informs us that they have filed legal action, we may restore the material within a reasonable time after receiving a valid counter-notification.

Repeat Infringers

In appropriate circumstances, we will suspend or terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers of copyright.
