Manage User Permissions
pckgs.io doesn’t have fixed roles like “Admin” or “Member”. Every person’s access is built from individual permissions you grant, so you can give each teammate exactly what they need and nothing more.
Where to Manage Permissions
- From your organization’s Members page, click a member’s name to open their profile.
- Click Edit.
- Adjust their permissions and click Save.
New members start with read-only access to every package and none of the permissions below.
Organization Permissions
These control what a member can do across the whole organization, not tied to any single package:
- Invite Users: invite new people to join the organization.
- Remove Users: remove existing members from the organization.
- Manage User Roles: change the permissions of other members. Without this, a member can view the team but can’t edit anyone’s access.
- Create Packages: publish brand new packages to the organization. Publishing new versions of a package that already exists is controlled separately, by the Write permission on that specific package.
Package Permissions
Beyond organization-wide permissions, access to packages themselves is granted individually, either for a single package or for every package in the organization at once:
- Read: install and download the package.
- Write: publish new versions to it.
- Delete: permanently remove it.
- Manage: change its visibility between public and private.
The Organization Owner
The organization owner always has full access to everything, and their permissions can’t be changed or restricted. Ownership isn’t granted through permissions, it belongs to whoever created the organization, and the owner can’t be removed from it.
